Currently, I’ve cobbled together a solution with my own (shared) WP server, Flickr Pro, and a free micro.blog account. It’s a hassle and somewhat expensive for how little I use those. FB and IG are dead simple, with lots of ads.
MeWe seems an alternative for FB groups and micro.blog for the FB newsfeed. It’s about having alternatives, breaking dependence on a single provider.
With iOS 14.5 about to be released and hearing the personal tragedies with suspended accounts, I’m contemplating abandoning Facebook and all their properties, other than for family.
